Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the new EU funding programme for research and innovation running from 2014 to 2020 with a €80 billion budget. H2020 supports SMEs with a new instrument that runs throughout various funded research and innovation fields,enhances EU international research and Third Country participation, attaches high importance to integrate social sciences and humanities encourages to develop a gender dimension in project.

 

Follow H2020 funding opportunities for international cooperation

International cooperation has always been a key feature of the scientific endeavour. In a rapidly evolving global context, Research and Innovation are increasingly linked internationally, demanding new forms of cooperation

Horizon 2020 is open to the world, allowing European researchers, to cooperate with their counterparts around the world in H2020 projects on any topic. In addition, in some parts of Horizon 2020, topics have been flagged as being particularly suitable for international cooperation and consortia are encouraged to include non-EU partners.

Call for proposals - Policy Dialogues EU - Gulf Cooperation Council

This Call for Proposals is published under the 2012 Annual Action Programme of the European Union for the Industrialised Countries Instrument (ICI), budget line 19.05.01 of the European Commission. It is designed to pursue the objectives of the EU-GCC Cooperation Agreement, signed in 1988 and the implementation of the Joint Action Programme, endorsed in 2010, by the EU-GCC Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting in Luxemburg. The Joint Action Programme sets a number of key strategic areas within the scope of the Cooperation Agreement and reflects the shared ambition of the EU and the GCC to reinforce their cooperation, within a three year timeframe.
The European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments invites proposals on the topic of transporτ
Policy discussions, exchange of technical expertise and business models to promote sustainable,
energy-efficient and environmentally friendly transport co-modality, i.e. an optimal
combination of various modes of transport within the same transport chain.

Specific objectives are:
- to promote exchanges of information and dissemination of expertise between political, economic and social partners, together with other civil  society and non-state players
- to test new ideas with different players and provide feedback to the Commission.

Call for Proposals: Public Diplomacy and Outreach - European Union - Gulf Cooperation Council

This Call for Proposals is designed to pursue the objectives of the EU-GCC Cooperation Agreement, signed in 1988 and the implementation of the Joint Action Programme, endorsed in 2010, by the EU-GCC Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting in Luxemburg. This Joint Action Programme sets a number of key strategic areas within the scope of the Cooperation Agreement and reflects the shared ambition of the EU and the GCC to reinforce this cooperation, within a three year timeframe.
The European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments invites proposals relating to activities that promote public awareness and understanding of the European Union among GCC citizens, and reflection and debate about EU-GCC relations.

Calls for Proposals related on Energy under FP7

A number of energy related Calls for Proposals under FP7 are already published on 20 July 2011:

  • FP7-ENERGY-2012-1: a general call focusing on research with a long-term horizon
  • FP7-ENERGY-2012-2: a general call focusing on research with a short-term horizon and on demonstration
  • FP7-ENERGY-SMARTCITIES-2012: a call in the framework of the SET-Plan Smart Cities and Communities Initiative
  • FP7-2012-NMP-ENV-ENERGY-ICT-EeB: a cross-thematic call on Energy-efficient Buildings in the context of the EU Recovery Plan
  • FP7-ERANET-2012-RTD: a joint call on ERA-NETs
  • FP7-ICT-2011-8: an ICT R&D theme comprising "ICT for greening"in its challenges.

7th Framework Programme-Call for Proposals

A number of energy related Calls for Proposals under FP7 are planned to be published on 20 July 2011. The Energy Research Information Day in Brussels, 7 July 2011, will address these calls and provide guidance on how to participate.

ERASMUS MUNDUS 2011 Call for proposals: EACEA/41/10

Erasmus Mundus is a cooperation and mobility programme in the field of higher education that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through cooperation with third countries. In addition, it contributes to the development of human resources and the international cooperation capacity of Higher education institutions in third countries by increasing mobility between the European Union and these countries.
