The EU-GCC Clean Energy Network and the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute are very pleased to invite you at the Network’s Event “EU GCC Co-Operation on Res, Energy Efficiency & CCS” to be held in Doha, Qatar from 7th to 9th of May, 2012 (Education City – Qatar Foundation).

This Event in line with the Network’s efforts to promote EU-GCC cooperation in the field of clean energy, aims to enhance inter-regional knowledge dissemination and information exchange on clean energy topics, including research, technology and policy aspects.

The Event working plan includes:

Opening Ceremony (7th May)

Discussion Session on the way to a sustainable EU-GCC Clean Energy Network (7th May)

Experts’ Discussion Groups’ Meetings on the topics of:

  • Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management (7th May)
  • Renewable Energy Sources (8th May)

Training Seminars delivered by distinguished experts on: 

  • Tri-generation & District Cooling (8th May)
  • Carbon Capture and Storage (8th May)

Visit to Qatar Science and Technology Park (7th May)

Technical Site Visit to Cogeneration Plants in Ras Laffan Industrial City (9th May)
 

The Event is addressed to energy sector experts, consultants and researchers including engineers, project developers, executives at energy utilities/authorities, as well as experts specialising in the fields of clean energy and particular on carbon capture and storage, energy efficiency & demand side management, renewable energy sources etc. 

During the Event, distinguished clean energy experts, including representatives from the European Commission and the GCC authorities, will exchange views on the potential ways to support and enhance the long term strategic EU-GCC clean energy relationship.
